Regular Season Round 12: Start Gdynia - Asseco Prok. 81-80

A very close game took place in Gdynia between Start Gdynia and Asseco Prok.. Ninth ranked Start Gdynia (4-8) got a very close home victory over higher ranked Asseco Prok. (7-4). Start Gdynia managed to escape with a 1-point win 81-80 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Asseco Prok.. The hosts trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 26-20 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great shooting night for Start Gdynia especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Start Gdynia moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Siarka Jezioro. Defending champion Asseco Prok. dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Start Gdynia will meet at home league's second-placed Trefl Sopot in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Asseco Prok. will play against the league's leader PGE Turow (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
