LBL top team - Valmiera (11-3) added another victory to their record on Sunday. This time they beat ninth ranked Liepaja (5-7) 78-71. Liepaja trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 25-21 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 71-78 at the end of the game. Valmiera made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Valmiera outrebounded Liepaja 46-25 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a quality performance of power forward Artjoms Butjankovs (205-91, agency: FCM) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and power forward Maris Ziedins (203-90) who added 18 points and 10 rebounds during the contest.
