There was no surprise when 17th ranked Tijuca TC (1-7) lost to Sao Jose/Vinac (5-2) in Rio de Janeiro 74-79 on Monday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Sao Jose/Vinac made 29-of-34 free shots (85.3 percent) during the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Sao Jose/Vinac made 9 blocks. The former international power forward Jefferson Antonio (207-83) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 blocks. Spanish swingman Alvaro Calvo (203-83, agency: Dynamics Global Management) contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five Sao Jose/Vinac players scored in double figures. Power forward Cesar Araujo (201-81) replied with 24 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Rodrigo Bahia Bispo (206-79) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Tijuca TC.
