WCBA top team - Shanxi (13-3) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed seventh ranked Qujing Yunnan (7-9) in Taiyuan 92-72. The game without a history. Shanxi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Qujing Yunnan's 30. Shanxi forced 24 Qujing Yunnan turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Qujing Yunnan's players. The winners were led by Spanish Maya Moore (183-89, college: Connecticut) who scored that evening 43 points (!!!), 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals (made all of her eight free throws) and point guard Jinzhu Wu (175-88) supported her with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Even 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists by forward Betty Cao (180-87) did not help to save the game for Qujing Yunnan. American center Lindsay Taylor (203-81, college: UCSB) added 13 points and 17 rebounds for lost side. Five Qujing Yunnan players scored in double figures. Shanxi have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Shanxi maintains first position with 13-3 record. Qujing Yunnan lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with nine games lost. Shanxi will play against Liaoning Hengye (#5) in Anshan in the next round. Qujing Yunnan will play at home against Henan Elephants in Jiyuan and hopes to get back on the winning track.
