Bottom-ranked Serbian OKK Beograd managed to get the second consecutive victory. This time they edged sixth-ranked Bulgarian Rilski Sportist 83-82. And what about a second win in a row after ...five consecutive loses. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 25-17. But Rilski Sportist won second period 23-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. OKK Beograd players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. It was a good game for power forward Milos Pavlovic (210-84, agency: BeoExcell) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Bosnian-Serbian point guard Aleksej Nesovic (189-85, agency: Beo Basket) contributed with 16 points, 7 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Four OKK Beograd players scored in double figures. Serbian guard Branko Mirkovic (190-82, agency: Global Sports Plaza) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists and American center Tony Gugino (207-86, college: Hillsdale) added 23 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Rilski Sportist. OKK Beograd maintains tenth place with 2-5 record. Rilski Sportist at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. OKK Beograd will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rilski Sportist will play at home against Kavala and hopes to get back on the winning track.
