There was an upset in Comodoro R. where 3rd placed Olimpico de La Banda (17-10) was defeated by eleventh ranked GECR Indalo (11-15) 95-85 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by GECR Indalo. Olimpico de La Banda was better in second period 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. GECR Indalo shot 60.4 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for GECR Indalo especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 66.7 percentage. Olimpico de La Banda was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Jason Robinson (196-80, college: Pikeville) fired 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Guard David Jackson (196-82, college: Penn St.) chipped in 20 points. Five GECR Indalo players scored in double figures. Center Sam Clancy (202-80, college: USC) produced 15 points and 7 rebounds and forward Cedric McGowan (200-85, college: Cincinnati, agency: Court Side) added 13 points respectively for lost side. GECR Indalo maintains eleventh place with 11-15 record. Olimpico de La Banda at the other side keeps the third position with ten games lost. GECR Indalo will face higher ranked Atenas (#9) in Cordoba in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Olimpico de La Banda will play on the road against the league's second-placed Lanus (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
