Boca Juniors (14-11) survived in overtime against Libertad Sunchales (14-10) by six points 97-91 on Wednesday night. The game took place in Sunchales. But the guests from Buenos Aires were better at the end. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-20. But Libertad Sunchales won second period 18-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Libertad Sunchales used huge pressure winning it 23-19 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 10-16. Libertad Sunchales was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. International guard Federico Van Lacke (191-80) fired 24 points and 4 assists for the winners. American-Puerto Rican center Daniel Santiago (216-76, college: N.Mexico, agency: Priority Sports) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. The former international guard Diego Garcia (190-79) produced 26 points and 5 rebounds and Puerto Rican center Ricardo Sanchez (212-87) added 20 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Five Boca Juniors and four Libertad Sunchales players scored in double figures. Boca Juniors have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain eighth place with 14-11 record. Libertad Sunchales at the other side dropped to the seventh position with ten games lost. Boca Juniors will face higher ranked Quimsa (#5) in Santiado Estero in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
