Regular Season Round 10: Armia - Batumi 99-76

The game with biggest result difference took place in Tbilisi. Local Armia (7-2) outscored 8th ranked Batumi (3-6) 99-76. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Batumi. The game was mostly controlled by Armia. Batumi was better in fourth quarter 29-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Batumi's 30. They outrebounded Batumi 47-32 including 17 on the offensive glass. Armia players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. American-Belgian guard Marcus Faison (196-78, college: Siena) notched 18 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and American guard Curtis Millage (185-81, college: Arizona St.) supported him with 13 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Five Armia players scored in double figures. Armia's coach Kote Tugushi felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a double-double of 41 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds by the former international forward Lasha Keshelava (200-81) did not help to save the game for Batumi. Nika Ramishvili (179-94) added 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Rustavi and MIA Academy. Batumi at the other side keeps the eighth position with six games lost. Armia's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi Olimpi.
