Regular Season Round 11: Priolo - Parma 51-70

Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Priolo (2-8) was rolled over at home by third ranked Parma (8-2) 70-51. It looked good early as Priolo took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Parma had a 27-14 second period charge getting the lead and Priolo was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 51-70. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Priolo to just 6 points in third quarter. It was an exceptional evening for Bulgarian forward Gergana Simeonov (186-79) who led the winners and scored 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. New Zealand-American forward Jillian Harmon (185-87, college: Stanford) accounted for 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. Serbian forward Monika Veselovski (183-77) came up with 22 points and American center Kelley Cain (198-89, college: Tennessee) added 5 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Priolo in the defeat. Parma have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Lucca. Priolo at the other side keeps the ninth position with eight games lost. They share it with Pozzuoli. Parma will play against Orvieto (#6) on the road in the next round. Priolo will play against C.U.S. Chieti and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
