WNBL top team - Bendigo Spirit (13-2) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Logan Thunder (5-10) 98-68. The game without a history. Bendigo Spirit led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Kristi Harrower (166-75) who scored 19 points and 9 assists. American forward Kelsey Griffin (188-87, college: Nebraska) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Bendigo Spirit's coach Bernie Harrower felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was New Zealand forward Natalie Taylor (182-84, college: SE Missouri St.) who recorded 20 points and 6 rebounds and forward Emma Langford (188-89, college: Wyoming) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Five Bendigo Spirit and four Logan Thunder players scored in double figures. Bendigo Spirit maintains first position with 13-2 record. Logan Thunder lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Sydney UF and Canberra C.. Bendigo Spirit will meet at home Bulleen Boomers (#5) in the next round. Logan Thunder will play against Adelaide Lightning and hope to secure a win.
