Regular Season Round 15: St Quentin - Lille 78-76

A very interesting game took place in Saint-Quentin. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 11th ranked Lille Metropole (6-9) to eighth ranked Saint-Quentin (8-7) 78-76 on Friday evening. Lille Metropole was ahead by 2 points after three quarters before a 27-23 charge of Saint-Quentin, which allowed them to win the game. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Julien Lesieu (201-83) who led the winners and scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. American-Ghanian Amu Saaka (198-88, college: Furman, agency: Pro One Sports) accounted for 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Five Saint-Quentin players scored in double figures. American Steve Smith (200-81, college: Iona) came up with 16 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Nicolas Taccoen (203-86) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Lille Metropole in the defeat. Saint-Quentin moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Maurienne and Fos Ouest. Lille Metropole at the other side keeps the eleventh position with nine games lost. Saint-Quentin's next round opponent will be higher ranked Le Portel (#5) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lille Metropole will play against SO Maritime Boulogne (#6).
