The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Zhejiang Far East as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Shanxi) loss. Zhejiang Far East defeated 10th ranked Guangdong Dolphins in Hangzhou 81-71. The game without a history. Zhejiang Far East led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 22-of-24 charity shots (91.7 percent) during the game. Zhejiang Far East outrebounded Guangdong Dolphins 41-27 including 19 on the offensive glass. Australian center Elizabeth Cambage (203-91) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 13 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). The former international swingman Lan Bian (185-86) contributed with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Zhejiang Far East players scored in double figures. American Tamika Catchings (186-79, college: Tennessee) answered with 27 points and 5 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field) and point guard Siyue Qiu (177-91) added 16 points in the effort for Guangdong Dolphins. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Shanxi. Guangdong Dolphins at the other side dropped to the ninth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Bayi. Guangdong Dolphins will play next round against Bayi Kylin trying to get back on the winning streak. Zhejiang Far East will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Qujing Yunnan at home.
