Regular Season Round 22: Okinawa GK - Hamamatsu P. 82-75

An interesting game for Okinawa GK (16-3) which hosted in Okinawa their biggest opponent Hamamatsu Phoenix (15-8). First ranked Okinawa GK managed to get a 7-point victory 82-75. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Hamamatsu Phoenix. The hosts trailed by 12 points at the halftime before their 33-12 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Okinawa GK forced 25 Hamamatsu Phoenix turnovers. Guard Narito Namizato (172-89) notched 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and American Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) supported him with 13 points and 9 rebounds. Five Okinawa GK players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 12 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists by American point guard Kevin Galloway (200-88, college: Texas Southern, agency: Top Notch Sports) did not help to save the game for Hamamatsu Phoenix. His fellow American import guard Wendell White (198-84, college: UNLV, agency: Top Notch Sports) added 15 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Okinawa GK maintains first position with 16-3 record. Loser Hamamatsu Phoenix keeps the second place with eight games lost. Okinawa GK will again meet at home league's second-placed Hamamatsu Phoenix in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hamamatsu Phoenix will have a break next round.
