We should mention about the upset which took place in Qujing, where 8th ranked Qujing Yunnan (7-10) lost at home to eleventh ranked Henan Elephants (5-12) 88-99. The game without a history. Henan Elephants led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. American power forward Jayne Appel (193-88, college: Stanford) nailed a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) for the winning side and forward Di Wu (186-90) accounted for 24 points and 6 rebounds. Five Henan Elephants players scored in double figures. American center Lindsay Taylor (203-81, college: UCSB) came up with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds and forward Betty Cao (180-87) added 21 points respectively for Qujing Yunnan in the defeat. Henan Elephants maintains eleventh place with 5-12 record. Qujing Yunnan lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with ten games lost. Henan Elephants' next round opponent will be higher ranked Liaoning Hengye (#5) in Anshan and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
