Rather predictable result when third ranked Shimane Magic (14-7) rolled over at home 7th ranked Oita Heat Devils (9-12) 83-51 on Saturday. The game without a history. Shimane Magic led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Oita Heat Devils' 28. They outrebounded Oita Heat Devils 46-27 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Quite impressive performance for American forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 29 points and 15 rebounds. The other American import Benjamin Puckett (205-83, college: Clayton St., agency: I.D.S. Law) contributed with 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Guard Kohei Mitomo (179-80) replied with 13 points and American power forward Cyrus Tate (203-85, college: Iowa) added 9 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Oita Heat Devils. Shimane Magic have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 14-7 record having just -1 point less than leader Okinawa GK, which they share with Fukuoka Rizing. Oita Heat Devils lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 12 games lost. Shimane Magic will face again Oita Heat Devils (#7) at home in the next round.
