Regular Season Round 12: Cholet - Nanterre 71-72

A very close game took place in Cholet between JSF Nanterre and Cholet. Thirteenth ranked JSF Nanterre (6-6) got a very close victory on the road over higher ranked Cholet (6-6). JSF Nanterre managed to escape with a 1-point win 72-71 in the game for the seventh place. Cholet trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 24-12 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 71-72 at the end of the game. Worth to mention a great performance of center Johan Passave-Ducteil (200-85) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and the former international forward Stephen Brun (202-80) who added 15 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard A.J. Slaughter (191-87, college: W.Kentucky) with 14 points and 5 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and center Rudy Gobert (212-92) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Five JSF Nanterre and four Cholet players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. JSF Nanterre moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Cholet and Orleans. JSF Nanterre will meet higher ranked Strasbourg IG (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Cholet will play against Le Mans and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
