Rather expected game when 9th ranked Liepaja (5-9) lost on the road to sixth ranked Jurmala (8-7) 82-64 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Jurmala dominated on the defensive end, holding Liepaja to just 6 points in third quarter. It was a good game for forward Janis Dilevka (200-88) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Center Roberts Mednis (204-89) contributed with 10 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Five Jurmala players scored in double figures. Center Toms Leiteris (213-90) replied with 14 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and guard Kristaps Miglinieks (197-90) added 8 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Liepaja. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Jurmala moved-up to fourth place. Loser Liepaja keeps the ninth position with nine games lost. Jurmala will face Jelgava (#7) at home in the next round. Liepaja will play against the league's second-placed Jekabpils.
