Regular Season Round 11: Castello - La Palma 85-70

The game with biggest result difference took place in Castellon. Local Castello (3-7) beat 11th ranked La Palma (2-8) 85-70. The game was mostly controlled by Castello. La Palma was better in fourth quarter 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Castello especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a quality performance for power forward David Ortega (199-84) who led the winners and scored 25 points and 9 rebounds (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). Center Victor Hidalgo (204-86) accounted for 20 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) for the winning side. Senegalese forward Mouhamed Barro (204-95) came up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and Mali power forward Bakary Konate (208-93) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for La Palma in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. La Palma's coach Pablo Melo tested eleven players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted Castello maintains tenth place with 3-7 record. La Palma at the other side stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Castello's next round opponent will be higher ranked Aurteneche M. (#5) in Vitoria-Gasteiz and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. La Palma will play on the road against the league's leader CB Guadalajara (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
