The game in Omegna was also quite interesting. Third ranked Castelletto (10-4) played at the court of 8th ranked Omegna (7-7). Castelletto managed to secure a 4-point victory 82-78 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 30-26. But Omegna won second period 17-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Castelletto won last quarter 17-15. The winners were led by forward Francesco Ihedioha (196-86) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds and center Marco Pazzi (203-79) supported him with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Four Castelletto players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds by forward Stefano Masciadri (200-89) did not help to save the game for Omegna. Guard Giacomo Mariani (191-86) added 16 points and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for lost side. Castelletto maintains third position with 10-4 record having just two points less than leader Torino. Loser Omegna dropped to the seventh place with seven games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Castelletto will meet at home Mirandola (#18) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Omegna will play against Recanati (#15) and hope to secure a win.
