Very predictable result in Madrid where third ranked Real Canoe (7-3) outscored 9th ranked Tenerife (3-7) 71-48 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Real Canoe. Tenerife was better in second period 16-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Real Canoe dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Tenerife's 22. Real Canoe forced 27 Tenerife turnovers. Center Daira Varas (193-89) fired 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Forward Sheila Mangada (183-85) chipped in 12 points. Real Canoe's coach Pablo Roldan felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Laura Bejarano (182-82) produced 4 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Laura Munoz (166-78, agency: Josep and Nicolas) added 9 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Real Canoe moved-up to second place in Group B, which they share with Casablanca and Alcobendas. Loser Tenerife keeps the ninth position with seven games lost. Real Canoe will face league's second-placed Casablanca in Zaragoza in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tenerife will play at home against ASEFA Estudiantes (#6) in Madrid.
