The most exciting game of round 12 in the WNBL took place in Melbourne. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 5th ranked Bulleen Boomers (7-9) to eighth ranked Logan Thunder (5-10) 82-79 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 23-19 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Logan Thunder made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Emma Langford (188-89, college: Wyoming) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Laurie Koehn (173-82, college: Kansas St.) who added 24 points during the contest. Logan Thunder's coach Jason Chainey used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was swingman Alice Kunek (186-91) with 30 points and international swingman Tess Madgen (180-90) scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. Logan Thunder moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Sydney UF and Canberra C. Bulleen Boomers lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with nine games lost. Logan Thunder is looking forward to face higher ranked Adelaide Lightning (#3) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Bulleen Boomers will play against the league's leader Bendigo Spirit and are hoping to win this game.
