A very interesting game took place in Malaga. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 8th ranked Regal FC Barcelona (7-7) to ninth ranked Unicaja Malaga (8-6) 71-69 on Sunday evening. Regal FC Barcelona was ahead by 6 points at the halftime before a 40-32 second half run of Unicaja Malaga. American guard Marcus Williams (191-85, college: Connecticut) notched 15 points and 4 assists to lead the effort and the other American import forward Andy Panko (205-77, college: Lebanon Valley, agency: Beo Basket) supported him with 9 points and 8 rebounds. Even 22 points and 6 rebounds by Croatian center Ante Tomic (217-87) did not help to save the game for Regal FC Barcelona. American forward Pete Mickeal (199-78, college: Cincinnati) added 10 points and 13 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Unicaja Malaga moved-up to sixth place, which they share with CAI Zaragoza. Regal FC Barcelona lost third consecutive game. Defending champion keeps the eighth position with seven games lost. Unicaja Malaga's next round opponent will be higher ranked Valencia Basket (#3) on the road and it may be quite challenging game. Regal FC Barcelona will play against the league's leader Real Madrid (#1).
