Round 12 in Lega 2 means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Jesi where host Fileni BPA Jesi (4-7) edged league's leader Tuscany Pistoia (8-3) 74-72 on Sunday evening. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 20-8. But Tuscany Pistoia won second period 29-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was the former international center Michele Maggioli (212-77) who scored 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks. American guard Jesse Sanders (190-89, college: Liberty) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. Four Fileni BPA Jesi players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Panamanian swingman Michael Hicks (194-76, college: Texas A&M-CC) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and the former international power forward Giacomo Galanda (211-75) added 19 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Fileni BPA Jesi maintains eleventh position with 4-7 record. Tuscany Pistoia at the other side dropped to the third place with three games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Givova Scafati. Tuscany Pistoia will play next round against C.de Latte BRE trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Fileni BPA Jesi will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Pall.Trento on the road.
