Regular Season Round 18: Shanxi - Shenyang 105-67

An interesting game for Shanxi (14-4) which hosted in Taiyuan 3rd ranked Shenyang Golden Lions (11-7). Second ranked Shanxi had an easy win 105-67. Shanxi dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Shenyang Golden Lions' 48 and made 30-of-35 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Shanxi forced 20 Shenyang Golden Lions turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Shenyang Golden Lions' players. Shenyang Golden Lions were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Spanish Maya Moore (183-89, college: Connecticut) scored 16 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals to lead the charge for the winners and center Dong Yu (195-93) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) during the contest. Five Shanxi players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international center Dan Liu (194-87) with 28 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and international forward LiJie Miao (178-81) scored 15 points. Shanxi keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Zhejiang. Shenyang Golden Lions at the other side keep the third place with seven games lost. They share the position with Liaoning and Jiangsu. Shanxi will play against bottom-ranked Heilongjiang Chenneng (#12) in Harbin in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Shenyang Golden Lions will play on the road against Henan Elephants (#11) in Jiyuan and hope to get back on the winning track.
