Regular Season Round 16: Nantes - Chalons-Reims 66-73

Date: December 26, 2012
Very predictable result when fifth ranked Chalons-Reims (11-5) won against on the road 12th ranked Nantes (6-10) 73-66 on Wednesday. Nantes was trailing by 6 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 24-13 charge of Chalons-Reims, which allowed them to win the game. The winners were led by power forward Kevin Corre (202-85) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 17 points and 18 rebounds and swingman Rodrigue Mels (188-85, college: CS Northridge, agency: Three Eye Sports) supported him with 17 points. Even a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds by American power forward James Mathis (200-84, college: Niagara, agency: Court Side) did not help to save the game for Nantes. His fellow American import forward Terrance Henry (208-89, college: Mississippi, agency: Pro One Sports) added 12 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Nantes' coach Guillaume Quintard rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Chalons-Reims moved-up to third place, which they share with Evreux and Le Portel. Loser Nantes dropped to the thirteenth position with ten games lost. They share it with Hyeres-Toulon and Lille. Chalons-Reims will meet at home Saint Vallier (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Nantes will play against the league's second-placed Olympique Antibes and hope to secure a win.
