Regular Season Round 11: TTU - Rapla 74-87

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Tallinn where 4th placed TTU (6-6) was defeated by fifth ranked Rapla (6-6) 87-74. The game was mostly controlled by Rapla. TTU was better in second period 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rapla forced 23 TTU turnovers. TTU was plagued by 32 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for forward Illimar Pilk (195-88) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Martin Paasoja (190-93) accounted for 15 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Five Rapla players scored in double figures. Rapla's coach Indrek Ruut allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American center Andrew Arnold (208-86, college: Lewis-Clark St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and international forward Erik Keedus (198-90) added 9 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for TTU in the defeat. Rapla moved-up to fourth place, which they share with defeated TTU. Rapla will play against higher ranked Kalev/Cramo (#3) in Tallinn in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. TTU's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tallinn Kalev/Cramo.
