WCBA top team - Shanxi (15-4) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat twelfth ranked Heilongjiang Chenneng (3-16) in Taiyuan 103-92. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 54-41 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Shanxi made 27-of-32 free shots (84.4 percent) during the game. Spanish Maya Moore (183-89, college: Connecticut) fired a double-double by scoring 25 points, 16 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks for the winners. The former international forward Yu Zhang (184-86) chipped in 24 points and 6 rebounds. The former international guard YanYan Ji (182-85) produced 32 points and guard Yihong Ma (185-81) added 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Four Shanxi and five Heilongjiang Chenneng players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Shanxi maintains first place with 15-4 record. Heilongjiang Chenneng lost tenth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Shanxi will meet Jiangsu Phoenix (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Heilongjiang Chenneng will play against Henan Elephants (#11) in Jiyuan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
