Very predictable result in Veracruz where third ranked Halcones Rojos (28-8) defeated 8th ranked Huracanes (20-15) 78-60 on Saturday. The game without a history. Halcones Rojos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Halcones Rojos forced 25 Huracanes turnovers. The best player for the winners was Venezuelan power forward Luis Bethelmy (200-86) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. American-Panamanian guard Danilo Pinnock (196-83, college: G.Washington) chipped in 16 points and 4 steals. Five Halcones Rojos players scored in double figures. Halcones Rojos' coach Eddie Casiano let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Marcus Morrison (198-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) who recorded 20 points and 5 rebounds and the former international swingman Miguel Ayala (198-82, college: UTEP) added 20 points respectively. Halcones Rojos have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 28-8 record having four points less than leader Halc.Xalapa.
