Regular Season Round 24: Niigata Albirex - Shinshu BW 95-76

BJ League top team - Niigata Albirex (17-6) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Shinshu BW (13-11) 95-76. The game was mostly controlled by Niigata Albirex. Shinshu BW was better in second period 26-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. The winners were led by forward Rodney Webb (200-83, college: Florida Atlantic) who scored that evening 23 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and guard Nile Murry (193-83, college: TCU) supported him with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Even a double-double of 13 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals by swingman D'Mario Curry (201-85, college: Lincoln Memorial) did not help to save the game for Shinshu BW. Power forward Edward Morris (205-84, college: Pittsburg St.) added 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Niigata Albirex and five Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Niigata Albirex have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 17-6 record. Shinshu BW lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 11 games lost. Niigata Albirex will play against league's second-placed Yokohama BC on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Shinshu BW will play against Chiba Jets (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
