Regular Season Round 19: Liaoning - Zhejiang 96-87

There was a change at the WCBA leadership position after last games. Round 19 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Zhejiang Far East (14-5). They were defeated by fifth ranked Liaoning Hengye (12-7) 96-87 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Zhejiang Far East. Zhejiang Far East was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. It was a great evening for the former international forward Xiaoli Chen (193-82) who led her team to a victory scoring 22 points and 9 rebounds. International forward Zengyu Ma (183-84) helped adding 25 points. At the losing side Australian center Elizabeth Cambage (203-91) responded with 31 points and 6 rebounds (on 12-of-13 shooting from the field) and the former international swingman Lan Bian (185-86) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Liaoning Hengye have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Shenyang. Zhejiang Far East at the other side dropped to the second position with five games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Shanxi. Zhejiang Far East will play next round against strong Shenyang Golden Lions trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Liaoning Hengye will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Bayi Kylin in Yinzhou.
