Regular Season Round 11: Maccabi Ashdod - Hapoel T-A 72-67

Bottom-ranked Maccabi Ashdod managed to get a third victory. This time they won against fifth-ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv 72-67. Hapoel Tel-Aviv was ahead by 1 point after three quarters before a 18-12 charge of Maccabi Ashdod, which allowed them to win the game. They made 23-of-27 charity shots (85.2 percent) during the game. Maccabi Ashdod forced 19 Hapoel Tel-Aviv turnovers. Americans were the main players on the court. It was an exceptional evening for forward Diamon Simpson (201-87, college: St.Mary's, CA) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Jamie Skeen (205-88, college: VCU) accounted for 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Curtis Kelly (205-88, college: Kansas St.) came up with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks and point guard Demontez Stitt (186-89, college: Clemson) added 16 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Hapoel Tel-Aviv in the defeat. Maccabi Ashdod (3-8) moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Galil Gilboa and Hapoel Holon. Hapoel Tel-Aviv lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with Maccabi Rishon and Elizur Ashkelon. Maccabi Ashdod will play against higher ranked GreenTops Netanya (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hapoel Tel-Aviv will play against Bnei Hasharon in Hod Hasharon and hopes to get back on the winning track.
