Regular Season Round 24: Niigata Albirex - Shinshu BW 87-68

BJ League top team - Niigata Albirex (17-6) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Shinshu BW (13-11) 87-68. They outrebounded Shinshu BW 39-28 including 27 on the defensive glass. Niigata Albirex looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a quality performance of center Chris Holm (212-84, college: Vermont, agency: Top Notch Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds and forward Taj Finger (205-86) who added 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Niigata Albirex players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) with 20 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Edward Morris (205-84, college: Pittsburg St.) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Niigata Albirex have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 17-6 record. Shinshu BW lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 11 games lost. Niigata Albirex are looking forward to face league's second-placed Yokohama BC on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Shinshu BW will play against Chiba Jets (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
