An interesting game took place in Recanati where higher ranked Omegna (7-8) was upset on the court of fifteenth ranked Recanati (6-9) 77-69 on Sunday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 22-12. But Omegna won third quarter 16-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Recanati had a 27-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. Guard Marco Gnaccarini (185-81) stepped up and scored 18 points and 5 assists for the winners and forward Attilio Pierini (201-81) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds. Five Recanati players scored in double figures. Guard Pierpaolo Picazio (193-79, agency: Players Group) responded with 17 points and 4 assists and forward Stefano Masciadri (200-89) scored 11 points. Recanati moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Ferrara and San Severo. Loser Omegna keeps the ninth position with eight games lost. Recanati will face Mirandola (#18) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
