Regular Season Round 12: Kings - Wildcats 61-95

The most important game in the last round took place in Sydney between second ranked Kings (9-6) and fourth ranked Perth Wildcats (9-4) on Sunday night. Kings were crushed by Perth Wildcats at home 95-61. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Kings. The game without a history. Perth Wildcats led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Perth Wildcats forced 22 Kings turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Kings' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Perth Wildcats made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Kevin Lisch (188-86, college: St.Louis, agency: Warren Sports International) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 4 assists and forward Greg Hire (198-87, college: Augusta St.) who added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Five Perth Wildcats players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was swingman Ben Madgen (193-85, college: Augusta St.) with 22 points and forward Tom Garlepp (203-86, college: UCSB) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Perth Wildcats moved-up to second place. Kings at the other side dropped to the third position with six games lost. Perth Wildcats are looking forward to face Cairns Taipans (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Kings will play against Melbourne Tigers (#6) and are hoping to win this game.
