Important game to mention about took place in Kfar Blum. Seventh ranked Elitzur Holon (3-6) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging one of their biggest challengers Galil Elion (4-5) 77-74 on Monday evening. It looked good early as Galil Elion took an 10-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Elitzur Holon had a 25-14 second period charge getting the lead and Galil Elion was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 74-77. Elitzur Holon forced 21 Galil Elion turnovers and outrebounded them 41-29 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Elitzur Holon especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. American players dominated also this game. Guard Alexis Hornbuckle (180-85, college: Tennessee) scored 23 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and forward Kerri Gardin (186-84, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Regeneracom Sports) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side point guard Sydney Carter (167-90, college: Texas A&M, agency: Ronsport) responded with 27 points and 6 assists and forward Christine Flores (190-90, college: Missouri, agency: Ronsport) scored 8 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Elitzur Holon moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Hap.Petah Tikva and Elitzur Netanya. Galil Elion lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. Elitzur Holon will play against Hap.Petah Tikva (#6) at home in the next round. Galil Elion will play against the league's second-placed Elitzur Ramla and hopes to get back on the winning track.
