The biggest surprise of round 15 in CIS was guest Marauders' (3-5) road victory over 3rd placed Badgers (2-6) 79-73 on Thursday evening. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 79-73. Marauders shot 25 for 36 from the free-throw line, while Badgers only scored nine points from the stripe. 24 personal fouls committed by Badgers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was guard Joe Rocca (193) who scored 23 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Rohan Boney (193) chipped in 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Marauders players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Didi Mukendi (183) who recorded 16 points and 6 rebounds and guard C.J. Smith (183) added 16 points respectively. Badgers' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Marauders moved-up to third place, which they share with New Brunsw. and Guelph. Badgers at the other side dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. They share it with Toronto Univ. and Laurier. Marauders is looking forward to face Golden Hawks (#6) in Waterloo, ON in the next round. Badgers will play on the road against Mustangs in London, ON and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
