Leader Lancers delivered the sixth victory. This time they crushed 5th ranked Golden Hawks (2-6) 93-73 in Windsor, ON. It looked good early as Golden Hawks took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Lancers had a 32-15 second period charge getting the lead and Golden Hawks were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 73-93. Lancers forced 26 Golden Hawks turnovers. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a quality performance for the former international forward Lien Phillip (203-89) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds. Forward Evan Matthews (206-92) accounted for 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Center Matthew Chesson (201) came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and guard William Coulthard (188) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Golden Hawks in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lancers have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 6-2 record, which they share with Queen's. Golden Hawks lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with six games lost. Lancers' next round opponent will be Gryphons (#3) in Guelph, ON, which may be the game of the day. Golden Hawks will play on the road against Marauders in Hamilton, ON and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
