Regular Season Round 37: Corr.Victoria - Toros 96-81

The game between second ranked Toros (29-8) and eleventh ranked Correcaminos (15-22) was the most important one in the last round on Thursday night. Toros were defeated by Correcaminos in Ciudad Victoria 96-81. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of Toros. The game was mostly controlled by Correcaminos. Toros managed to win fourth quarter 25-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Correcaminos shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. American forward Brandon Robinson (202-81, college: Auburn, agency: Paris Global Sports) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and naturalized American swingman Joseph Hutchingson Mejia (196-85, college: Lincoln, MO) chipped in 20 points. Four Correcaminos players scored in double figures. At the losing side American-Nigerian forward Ike Ofoegbu (205-85, college: SMU) responded with 17 points and American-Puerto Rican point guard Wilfredo Pagan (184-76) scored 16 points. Toros' coach Jose Martinez rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Correcaminos moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Barreteros. Toros at the other side keep the second position with eight games lost. They share it with Halc.Rojos. Correcaminos is looking forward to face higher ranked Fuerza Regia (#7) in Monterrey in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Toros will play on the road against Huracanes (#8) in Tampico and are hoping to win this game.
