Regular Season Round 11: KR - KFI 104-87

There was no surprise in Reykjavik where 12th ranked KFI (2-9) was defeated by fifth ranked KR (7-3) 104-87 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by KR. KFI managed to win fourth quarter 33-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded KFI 49-35 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. KR looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. It was a great evening for international center Finnur Magnusson (208-85, college: Catawba) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field). Martin Hermannsson (190-94) helped adding 20 points and 9 assists. Four KR players scored in double figures. American point guard Damier Pitts (177-89, college: Marshall) responded with 35 points (!!!) and 8 assists and the other American import Tyrone Bradshaw (202-86, college: S.Indiana) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. The victory was the third consecutive win for KR. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Thor Thorl. KFI lost their eighth game in a row. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. KR's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Reykjavik Fjolnir.
