No shocking result in a game in Sudbury, ON where second ranked Ravens (8-1) smashed 5th ranked Voyageurs (5-4) 81-57 on Friday. The game without a history. Ravens led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 24-of-27 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Ravens outrebounded Voyageurs 47-25 including a 34-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Voyageurs were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Tyson Hinz (198-91) who scored 14 points. The former international guard Philip Scrubb (190-92) chipped in 14 points. Five Ravens players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Alex Ratte who recorded 15 points and swingman Georges Serresse (191) added 13 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ravens have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain second place with 8-1 record having just one point less than leader McGill, which they share with Ottawa. Voyageurs lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with four games lost. Ravens will face Lions (#6) in Toronto, ON in the next round. Voyageurs will play at home against Gee-Gees in Ottawa, ON and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
