Bottom-ranked Warriors (0-8) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 93-59 loss to second ranked Thunderwolves (4-4) in Waterloo, ON on Friday evening. They also forced 19 Warriors turnovers. Thunderwolves looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was naturalized Egyptian forward Yoosrie Salhia (198-87) who had a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Joseph Jones (188-89) chipped in 16 points. Five Thunderwolves players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Wayne Bridge (188-90) who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and naturalized British swingman Mike Helsby (195-89) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Thunderwolves have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 4-4 record having six points less than leader McGill. Loser Warriors still closes the standings with eight games lost. Thunderwolves will have a break next round. Warriors will play again at home against the league's second-placed Thunderwolves (#2) in Thunder Bay, ON and hope to get finally their first victory.
