Very expected game in Mexicali where 14th ranked Osos (6-31) were crushed by fourth ranked Soles (28-9) 94-58. The game without a history. Soles led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Osos' 26. Soles forced 28 Osos turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Panamanian forward Jamelle Horne (200-88, college: Arizona) who helped to win the game recording 39 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds (on 15-of-19 shooting from the field). The former international forward Michael Lizarraga (200-89, college: CS Northridge) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Soles' coach Ivan Deniz felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American swingman O'Louis McCullough (198-82, college: Francis Marion) answered with 17 points and 6 rebounds and forward Jorge Camacho (200-89, college: E.Kentucky) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Osos. The victory was the third consecutive win for Soles. They maintain fourth place with 28-9 record. Newly promoted Osos keep the fourteenth position with 31 games lost. Soles' next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Gigantes (#16) in Toluca which should be another easy win for them. Osos will play on the road against Pioneros in Cancun.
