Regular Season Round 25: Saitama Bron. - Sendai 89ers 75-90

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Saitama Broncos (2-19) were defeated at home by ninth ranked Sendai 89ers (8-12) 90-75 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Sendai 89ers. Saitama Broncos was better in third quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward T.J. Cummings (205-81, college: UCLA, agency: Top Notch Sports) fired a double-double by scoring 32 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Guard Takehiko Shimura (160-83) chipped in 13 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Sendai 89ers' coach Robert Pierce used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. point guard Takuma Yamashiro (167-85) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds and guard Yuki Kitamuki (184-85) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Sendai 89ers and five Saitama Broncos players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Sendai 89ers. They moved-up to eighth place. Saitama Broncos lost their twelfth game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 19 games lost. Sendai 89ers will have a break next round. Saitama Broncos will play again at home against Sendai 89ers (#8).
