No shocking result in a game when third ranked Iwate Big Bulls (17-6) defeated on the road 10th ranked Gunma (4-19) 80-70 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Iwate Big Bulls. Gunma was better in fourth quarter 25-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Iwate Big Bulls dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Gunma's 38. They outrebounded Gunma 48-37 including 37 on the defensive glass. American forward Lawrence Blackledge (206-86, college: Marquette, agency: Top Notch Sports) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Nigerian-American power forward Reggie Okosa (208-80, college: La Salle, agency: Top Notch Sports) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Blackledge is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Iwate Big Bulls players scored in double figures. American forward Dominique Keller (203-88, college: Illinois) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import guard Jermaine Dixon (191-87, college: Pittsburgh) added 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Gunma's coach Ryan Blackwell rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Iwate Big Bulls. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Yokohama BC. Gunma lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth place with 19 games lost. Iwate Big Bulls will have a break next round. Gunma will play again at home against the league's second-placed Iwate Big Bulls (#2).
