Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Badgers (3-6) defeated 7th ranked Mustangs (1-8) in London, ON 87-79 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 14 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 8 points. Badgers made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 28 Mustangs turnovers. Quite impressive performance for American guard Jameson Tipping (201, college: W.Kentucky) who helped to win the game recording 32 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Mark Gibson (198) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Forward Greg Morrow (190) replied with 18 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and forward Peter Scholtes (196) added 11 points in the effort for Mustangs. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Badgers moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Guelph. Mustangs lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with eight games lost. Badgers will have a break next round. Mustangs will play at home against Warriors (#8) in Waterloo, ON and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
