Leader Halcones UV Xalapa delivered the 34th victory. This time they beat 12th ranked Lechugueros (12-26) 91-75 in Leon. The game was mostly controlled by Halcones UV Xalapa. Lechugueros was better in fourth quarter 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Halcones UV Xalapa players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The former international center Adam Parada (213-81, college: Cal-Irvine) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). American guard LeRoy Hickerson (196-82, college: Cumberlands) contributed with 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Trinidad and Tobago-American point guard Ian Young (191-81, college: Auburn) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and Senegalese center Babacar Camara (211-81, college: CS Fullerton) added 15 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Lechugueros. Four Lechugueros players scored in double figures. Halcones UV Xalapa (34-4) have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position. Lechugueros lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 26 games lost. Halcones UV Xalapa will play against Osos (#14) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Lechugueros will play against Pioneros in Cancun and hope to get back on the winning track.
