Very expected game in Ciudad Victoria where 11th ranked Correcaminos (15-23) were defeated by seventh ranked Fuerza Regia (23-15) 102-89 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Fuerza Regia. Correcaminos managed to win fourth quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fuerza Regia made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. American guard Mario West (195-84, college: Georgia Tech) scored 19 points and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and international point guard Steve Monreal (180-86, college: CS Monterey) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. American forward Brandon Robinson (202-81, college: Auburn, agency: Paris Global Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Marquise Gainous (206-76, college: TCU) scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. Five Fuerza Regia and four Correcaminos players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Fuerza Regia maintains seventh position with 23-15 record. Loser Correcaminos keep the eleventh place with 23 games lost.
