Regular Season Round 15: Cognac - Sorgues 87-74

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Sorgues (6-7) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Cognac (10-3) 87-74. The game was mostly controlled by Cognac. Sorgues was better in third quarter 28-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. Cognac players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American center Ian Caskill (207-81, college: JMU) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Cedric Bertorelle (198-78) accounted for 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. American Quincy Hankins-Cole (203-90) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and American-Italian swingman Ryan Zamroz (192-87, college: Master's) added 20 points and 7 assists respectively for Sorgues in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cognac used an opportunity after Orchy lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Sorgues lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with seven games lost. Cognac's next round opponent will be Chartres (#12) on the road which should be an easy win for them. Sorgues will play against Saint Chamond.
