No shocking result in a game in Aguascalientes where fifth ranked Panteras (26-12) smashed 15th ranked Gansos (6-33) 126-94 on Saturday. The game without a history. Panteras led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 64.5 percent from the field. Panteras shot the lights out from three sinking 19 long-distance shots on high 51.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists. Puerto Rican point guard Ricardo Melendez (179-83, agency: Paris Global Sports) scored 53 points (!!!) to lead the charge for the winners and Puerto Rican swingman David Huertas (195-87, college: Mississippi) chipped in 19 points, 10 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Four Panteras players scored in double figures. Forward Jose Perez (197) responded with 32 points and Garduno Abraham scored 22 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Panteras have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 26-12 record. Gansos lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the fifteenth place with 33 games lost. Panteras will meet Correcaminos (#11) in the next round where they are favorite. Gansos will play against Fuerza Regia (#7) in Monterrey and hope to secure a win.
