Rather expected game when 7th ranked Oita Heat Devils (9-14) were rolled over at home by fourth ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix (16-9) 85-60 on Saturday. Hamamatsu Phoenix forced 22 Oita Heat Devils turnovers and outrebounded them 47-36 including 32 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American forward Adrian Thomas (200-87, college: Miami, FL) fired a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Forward Shoji Nakanishi (190-82) chipped in 15 points. Hamamatsu Phoenix's coach Ryuji Kawai felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American center Thomas Granado (208-88, college: Concordia Irvine) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 17 rebounds and the other American import power forward Cyrus Tate (203-85, college: Iowa) added 17 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Oita Heat Devils players scored in double figures. Hamamatsu Phoenix moved-up to third place. Oita Heat Devils lost their tenth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with 14 games lost. Hamamatsu Phoenix will have a break next round. Oita Heat Devils will play again at home against Hamamatsu Phoenix (#3) in Mikawa.
